Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit to Grant County Court Docket, the limited ways it may be used, and the circumstances in which it could be shared. By using the resource, a visitor accepts these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or case number entered into a search tool is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. That provider processes the query and returns its result. Grant County Court Docket does not keep or log the search terms entered through those tools.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email or other direct message is retained so it can be answered. It remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by a legal obligation.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, standard server and analytics tools may collect technical details about the visit, including:

  • The IP address assigned to the device
  • Browser type and version
  • Device type and operating system
  • Pages viewed and the time spent on them
  • The referring site, when available
  • Timestamps associated with page views

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device that help measure traffic patterns and page performance. Analytics services may use aggregated visit data for those purposes. Browser controls can block cookies, although parts of the resource may not function the same way when cookies are disabled.

What We Do With This Data

  • Operate, maintain, and secure the resource
  • Route a submitted search query to the selected partner service
  • Assess traffic patterns and resource performance
  • Identify and address technical problems
  • Display advertising that may be relevant to a visitor's interests

No Court-Record Data on File

Grant County Court Docket does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case-record data. It publishes general information about official Grant County and Nebraska access routes. Nebraska Supreme Court Rule § 1-805 governs categories of electronic court information that may be public, subject to restrictions; it does not make this private resource an official custodian. Formal Judicial Branch records requests follow the Nebraska Public Records Act §§84-712–84-712.09 pathway.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes that appear on some pages. Information submitted to a partner is handled under that partner's own privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices. Grant County Court Docket does not control those terms, so review the partner policy before submitting a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to clerk pages, Nebraska Judicial Branch services, statewide search systems, or third-party tools. Once a visitor leaves this resource, the privacy policy of the destination controls that visit. Read that policy before providing personal information.

Advertising providers can also measure activity across websites to deliver interest-based advertising. That activity occurs on their systems, not on a court-record database maintained here.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. Limited information can be available to the following recipients:

  • Search partners that process a query a visitor submits
  • Analytics providers used to measure traffic and performance
  • Advertising networks serving placements on the resource
  • Government or law-enforcement bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected information. No internet-connected system can promise absolute security, however, and this policy does not guarantee that an unauthorized access event will never occur.

Users Under 18

This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. If a minor's personal information is identified in a direct submission, it will be removed as appropriate.

Your Data Rights

Privacy rights can depend on where a visitor lives. Nebraska's court-record access framework, including the Nebraska Public Records Act §§84-712–84-712.09 pathway and Rule § 1-805, concerns government court records rather than visitor data held by this private resource. At a minimum, a visitor may:

  • Request a copy of personal information held about that visitor
  • Ask that inaccurate personal information be corrected
  • Request deletion of personal information where applicable
  • Opt out of certain processing where the law provides that choice

Updates to This Policy

This policy may change as practices or services change. A revised policy takes effect when posted here and will carry an updated effective date.
